I've had time on my hands lately to think more about the poncho I WILL get around designing one day (crosses fingers), and I realized that as far as the random stripe design goes, I'd rather go back to the simple two-color, same-size strips like the movie's design. Now I must choose the colors....and this time, I have to make a final decision. Suggestions, anyone?

Hi, there. :) I was wondering if you had moved forward with this project. I have been watching it for a few months now and would love to duplicate it if are successful in recreating this beautiful poncho.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Hi Anonymous :) Sadly, no, I haven't had time to continue on this project since this post, but I have devised a layout plan and am thinking about which yarn would be best to use. I'm glad it piqued your interest, I too love this poncho and can't wait to make it! As soon as I have a workable pattern, I'll be sure to post it!!

Hi! I too am one of many I'm sure that want this poncho from PD2!! I searched tons of patterns for this stripe variation, but nothing worked! Then I ran across your project! Your diagram is amazing!!!! Thank you so much!! I used strips from the Lacy Stripes Blanket (free on the Bernat website), with joining granny stitches to hold them together (also serving as the other-color stripe). I need to do a little more thinking/improving on the neckhole part, but it turned out beautifully thanks to your diagram! If you'd like to see a picture of it, just message me at my facebook page All About Crochet. Thanks again!

Hi Renee! i'm glad the diagram was able to help! I'd love to see pictures, I'll look for your fb page. Maybe you already saw it, but I made another diagram when brainstorming about the neckhole, it's here: http://asnowflake.blogspot.com/2011/08/design-time-poncho-pattern-phase-2.html
DeleteI really need to get to work on my project! :) Thanks for the comment!
